Our Approach to Pediatric Therapy
We are here to celebrate the human experience and that not one size fits all. That means, we want to know what makes you, YOU? We work to amplify your child’s strengths and your strengths as a parent to encourage joyful interactions. We want to provide confidence for your entire family in everyday activities. We know that when daily tasks are infused with connection while respecting everyone’s unique differences, real growth and change happen. Occupational therapy with The Affective Collective will look like:
Tailoring sessions and programming to each family
Championing your child’s passions, interests, and ideas
Embracing micromoments
Regulating before engaging

Evaluations
Evaluations are just the beginning of a collaborative therapy process. The evaluation will be family led, meaning parents have the opportunity to share their story and children get to lead the play. As a result, we begin to understand how to start applying everyone’s strengths for fulfillment in everday interactions and activities. The evaluation process will include:
Parent Interview
Clinical observations of sensory, affective, and motor skills
Formal standardized assessments as needed
All evaluations will come with a completed report, as well as a tailored plan of action to begin authentically supporting your child’s development and fulfillment in everyday activities. In-person evaluations available in Charleston, SC. Virtual evaluations available for those located in South Carolina.
