I am a licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of South Carolina and New Jersey. I graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelors in Communication and earned my Masters in Occupational Therapy at Jefferson College of Health Sciences.
I have experience in serving families and children through outpatient pediatric therapy practices, in the natural environment, through early intervention, and in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
My DIR journey began back in 2013 with my first training and mentorship outside of Washington, DC. It has been a guiding principle in my practice ever since and has supported by own transition into motherhood. The pandemic offered me an opportunity to dive deeper into the DIR model, as I spent two years training with The International Council of Development in Learning (ICDL) and receiving mentorship from interdisciplinary professionals to earn my Expert Training Leader Certificate. My favorite part about using Floortime is when parents find the gleam in their eye. It is the moment they feel empowered to connect with their child in a way they were not able to before.
As occupational therapists, our goal is to enhance a client’s fulfillment in daily life. I am always eager to keep myself up to date with best practices support my own skill set.
I have extensive training and experience in helping children with Autism, ADD/ADHD, anxiety, sensory health, physical disabilities, learning differences, oral motor dysfunction, pediatric feeding disorder, and emotional regulation.
Helping a child step into their authentic self and feeling confident in a purpose-driven life begins with supportive relationships. That’s why I am a firm believer in providing parents an open space and opportunity to receive their own coaching. I have stepped into a parent coaching role ready to offer empathy and practical solutions. As a parent myself, I work to understand what is realistic and feels good for each family.
I authentically show up with enthusiasm, understanding, curiosity, and creativity. Instead of knowing what is wrong with you, I want to know what is right. When I am not supporting families, you can find me on the beach, enjoying live music, and cuddling my boy gang at home.
